The soul of
Agrícola Sant Josep’s Cooperative in Bot
100% Own grapes
Agrícola Sant Josep is a cooperative company founded in the town of Bot, Southern Catalonia, Spain, in 1962. We are dedicated to the elaboration and the commercialization of the most traditional woody crops in the Mediterranean region: vineyards, olive trees and almond trees. Our production comes exclusively from our member’s own growing in the region of Terra Alta.
Bot was the birthplace of most of our founders. Here we have our corporative head office, all our industrial and service facilities, and most of the 500 hectares of crops from our members. Today, as a result of the social and economic dynamics in the region, we have enriched our local role with the incorporation of new members coming from the neighbouring villages.
The cooperative members are the soul of Agrícola Sant Josep. More than three hundred people, half of them are producers of a long farmer family tradition, at least three or four generations. In these people bear the primal responsibility for governing the cooperative. Among them, we have to highlight the figure of Francisco Martí Alcoverro (Bot, 1950), a member who chaired the Agrícola Sant Josep between 1993 and 2005. During that period, Mr. Martí got the support from members to focus the business to develop the own brand fine wines.
The improving of grapes and wine quality, the professional management and two of our brands, Clot d’encís and Llàgrimes de tardor, both proposed by Mr. Martí, represent the main legacy of those years. Today, Agrícola Sant Josep has its own management model and it is driven by a team of highly qualified professionals. Together, we work to ensure generational renewal of our members with a high commitment to sustainability and quality of the products offered to you.
